Τhe cultivation of black currant (Korinthian) in Western Peloponnese | 2018

The globally unique black Korinthian currant is being produced in the Peloponnese and in the Ionian islands. Its cultivation not only shapes  the life of raisin productive communities for centuries, but also the cultural image of the regions in which it is produced. The cultivation of the Korinthian currant is conveyed from one generation to the next and constitutes an important element of the sustainable development.
The element was inscribed on the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Greece in 2018.
