The vine-culture and wine-making heritage has been on the spotlight of Santorini’s cultural identity. Its vineyard, innate element of its scenery, is one of the most interesting in the world, since it is unsullied of grape phylloxera, self rooted, with age-old varieties. The particular manner of pruning, the quality of the ground, the unique microclimate and the accumulated experience of the viticulturists and the wine growers contribute to the exceptional production of wine of outstanding quality.
It was inscribed on the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Greece in 2018.
